Laser Pointer for Dog Training

Laser system for the purpose of training and educating specialized dogs, whether for hunting, rescue missions, protection, or assistance.

Laser systems offer the possibility to precisely mark specific objects or positions and provide the dog with a clear visual stimulus. This facilitates efficient training, where the dog can be guided purposefully over greater distances, while the handler operates from a safe distance. This is particularly advantageous in risky situations or in hard-to-reach environments where human entry is either dangerous or impossible.

The correct wavelength is crucial for visibility to both humans and dogs. Most mammals, including dogs, see in a spectral range from approximately 500 to 600 nanometers – a range that is well perceptible to both species. The use of diodes operating at around 520 nanometers offers particularly good robustness against external influences and ensures safe handling.

When used in dog work, it is important to gradually accustom the dog to the laser. Initially, the laser dot should be presented at a short distance along with familiar stimuli. During the training process, the high-intensity light should be reduced to protect both human and animal and to make the learning environment safe. In addition, movements of the light dot or built-in flashing functions can be used to better direct the dog's attention.

A well-designed laser device offers a great advantage, as it can be ideally adapted to the individual training requirements through various setting options such as power and blink frequencies. This supports the creation of direct communication between handler and dog, even under difficult conditions.

Thanks to innovative developments of the Pico K9-SPOT V1, which was developed in cooperation with experienced dog trainers, the diverse advantages of professional laser systems can be utilized. These systems were specially designed to ensure precise, powerful, yet safe working methods when used with dogs.

A robust, water and dust-proof housing as well as features such as an adjustable rotary switch and comfort for operation even with gloves.
